Simple Joys

I’m a big believer in the beauty of simple joys. Everyday moments sustain me more than anything, and they’re the kind of moments that you’ll find captured here. In addition to finding meaning in the everyday, I'm embracing life as an author, working towards publication, and juggling parenthood and career. I’d love to have you follow along. Let’s learn from each other.

There’s been so much to unpack during my last six months of querying literary agents, not to mention the almost-three years that I’ve spent pouring myself into my novel. It’s been a constant learning process, balancing my deeply-rooted need to write and my deeply-rooted love of parenthood. I’m looking forward to exploring both of those areas here, with an emphasis on writing.

In the meantime, here's an excerpt from my current work, in which my protagonist finds herself in a seaside cottage (about which she knows nothing) full of secrets:

"Anna listened to the crash of the waves through the open window. No matter the circumstances of why she was here, their relentless power kept centering her. They weren’t exactly like the ones she used to see in Boston. Still, regardless of where she was, the waves’ constancy proved there were forces bigger than her that didn’t care that she had no plans for the future or that she now owned a cottage in a place she had never visited before."
